Bitcoin SV proponent, Craig Wright, has recently made some controversial comments about privacy coins such as Monero and Zcash. He claimed that he has a technology that would make transactions on privacy coins traceable.
All talk, no action. This moron is just a snake-oil salesman in a cheap, ill-fitting suit, wearing a gaudy watch that he thinks looks expensive because a store clerk told him as much, bragging about money he doesn’t have & skills he can’t demonstrate. It’s just sad & pathetic. pic.twitter.com/PmmUUXwkEg

Monero and Zcash are amongst the most popular privacy-focused cryptocurrencies. Monero boosts transaction privacy using ring signatures, confidential transactions, and stealth addresses. These features ensure that no information is made public asides those needed to approve transactions.
Zcash meanwhile uses the Zero-Knowledge proofs which allow it to hide transaction details and conceal the identity of the parties involved.
Wright claimed that he has what it takes to make ZCash and Monero completely traceable, a way to start monitoring transactions. He added that he would not support the use of privacy coins, claiming that they are most used by criminals. Instead, he would focus on helping the Feds to stop those transactions.
Monero’s fluffypony responds
The statements made by Wright were met with sharp criticism by Riccardo Spagni, the head developer at Monero. In his reply, he criticized Wright, calling him a salesman that has no technical knowledge to make Monero’s transactions traceable.
He stated that “All talk, no action. This moron is just a snake-oil salesman in a cheap, ill-fitting suit, wearing a flashy watch that he thinks looks expensive because a store clerk told him as much, bragging about money he doesn’t have & skills he can’t demonstrate. It’s just sad & pathetic.”
Wright’s Satoshi claim still unproven
Craig is famous in the cryptoverse for his claims on being Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin. On multiple occasions, Wright has stated that he is the creator of Bitcoin, even though he hasn’t provided the private keys to prove it.

Recently, he threatened to end the Crypto Trader show hosted by Ran NeuNer on CNBC if the issue of his Satoshi claims is brought up again. He stated that he doesn’t owe it to anyone to tell them if he is Satoshi.
Craig Wright has maintained his stance that Bitcoin SV is the only true cryptocurrency, as he considers the others to be fakes who are banking on decentralization. Following recent developments, it is evident that Wright still claims to be Satoshi Nakamoto, but he doesn’t want to talk about it anymore.
At the moment, Wright is dedicated to the growth of Bitcoin SV as he considers it to be the true Bitcoin. He had previously warned traders and investors that the other cryptocurrencies are pure scams and expect them to experience a massive drop in value over the coming year.
