Dash Market Analysis: Mainet Evolution Update will Increase Security and Improve Payment Transactions

1. Dash Weekly and Overall Performance
DASH, the 14th most-valued cryptocurrency by market cap, has shown some volatility in the last week showing wild price swing in the range between $145-172.
After attaining $168 early in the week, DASH quickly lost 10-12% of its price while hitting a weekly bottom of $147 on Thursday, May 23. The price crash for DASH was in accordance to the overall market correction which lost around $12 billion during the same time.
However, after attaining this bottom, DASH again started moving northwards. A major spike in its price can be Sunday, May 26, where DASH gained almost 7-8% to regain all the lost ground.
At the press time, DASH is trading at $163 with a market cap of $1.42 billion and the daily trading volume of around $463 million.

- Last week, DASH announced that it will be releasing its new software version Dash Evolution v0.14 on the Dash mainnet. The upgrade aims to improve the overall user experience as well as network security. With other networks, improving the payment wait times comes usually at the cost of network security. The good thing with the Dash upgrade is that it improves speed and network security simultaneously.
The upgrade brings a special ChainLocks feature which prevents 51% attacks taking place on the network while on the other hand, InstaSend allows users to make real-time payments.
Dash manages to improve the user experience and security using what it calls Long Living Masternode Quorums (LLMQs). These are basically the trusted members of the network that allow users to considerably save the transaction times along with greater confirmation speeds. Quorums help to put less stress on individual nodes while validating transactions and events on demand without any need to form the Quorum.
The Dash Evolution software upgrade also brings into action the consumer-facing payments app called Dashpay. The payments app improves the overall user experience while replacing the lengthy wallet addresses with usernames.
